Esquimalt Lagoon at Sunrise — Basically My Backyard
This spot looks like it’s miles away from anything. Quiet, wide open, nothing but ocean, sky, and a lighthouse sitting out there doing its thing.
Reality? It’s about five minutes from home. Maybe six if the Tim Hortons line is slow.
This is one of those places I keep coming back to because it never really looks the same twice. Some mornings it’s glass calm, some mornings it’s blowing sideways, and every once in a while you get a sunrise like this where everything just lines up.
It’s also a good reminder of what drone work actually is most of the time. Not big productions. Not complicated setups. Just knowing where to go, when to go, and getting the shot clean.
I’m pretty spoiled having this in the backyard, not gonna lie.
