It was a cold, rainy December morning, with only a brief break in the weather. I took advantage of the window to capture a few quiet views looking out over Gonzales Bay and Trial Island, with the shoreline still glowing in late-season colour. I spent a lot of time around Gonzales Bay in my youth, and even on mornings like this it still carries a familiar calm — made better by a brief rainbow and soft mist drifting across the sky toward downtown Victoria.
