Looking at Speedy Auto Service From a Different Angle

After spending nearly 20 years in the automotive industry, I've been fortunate enough to get to know a lot of great people around Greater Victoria. One of the perks of running Vancouver Island Drones is getting the chance to combine that automotive background with drone photography and work with local shops I already know and respect.

Recently, I headed over to Speedy Auto Service on Douglas Street to capture some updated aerial photos for Chris and the team. I'm a fan of Chris and the guys there. They're friendly, easy to deal with, and genuinely care about looking after their customers. It's always nice when a business is run by people you'd happily recommend to friends and family.

From street level, Speedy blends into one of Victoria's busiest commercial corridors. You see the storefront, the signs, and the steady flow of traffic on Douglas Street. Once the drone goes up, though, you get a completely different perspective.

What really stood out was the size of the property and the shop itself. From above, you can appreciate the layout, the parking area, the service bays, and just how much is happening on the site—something that's easy to miss when you're driving by at 50 km/h.

That's one of the things I enjoy most about commercial drone photography. It isn't just about taking a picture from higher up. It's about showing a business in a way customers have probably never seen before. Whether it's for a website, Google Business Profile, social media, or marketing material, aerial photography adds a perspective that simply isn't possible from the ground.

Thanks again to Chris and everyone at Speedy Auto Service for having me out. It was great catching up and putting the drone to work for another local automotive business.

If you're a business owner in Greater Victoria and you've ever wondered what your property looks like from above, I'd be happy to show you. Sometimes all it takes is a different perspective.
