Searles Auto Repair From Above
I’ve known Chris at Searles Auto Repair since the mid-2000s, so this was a nice one to capture.
Searles is one of those long-standing Victoria automotive shops that a lot of people already know. They’ve been operating from the same area for years, and if you’ve spent much time around Victoria’s car world, there’s a good chance the name is familiar.
This was a quick early-morning aerial shoot on a moody, windy day. The weather was moving around a bit, but sunrise ended up being good to us. The low light hit the building nicely, the clouds added some drama, and the blue shop frontage stood out really well from above.
One of the things aerial photos do well is give people a better sense of where a business actually sits. From the street, you see the sign and the front of the shop. From the air, you get the bigger picture: the building, the lot, the surrounding streets, and the nearby landmarks.
With Searles, that context matters. The shop sits in a busy, familiar part of Victoria, not far from the Mayfair Mall area, tucked into that mix of automotive businesses, commercial buildings, older neighbourhood streets, and newer development. From above, you can see how it fits into that part of town.
These photos are not meant to overcomplicate anything. They simply show Searles Auto Repair from a different angle — the building, the signage, the property, and the location.
Sometimes that is exactly what a local business needs: a few clean, current images that show where they are and give people a better feel for the place.
Thanks to Chris and the team at Searles for letting Vancouver Island Drones grab a few shots from above.
Great people, great shop, and a familiar Victoria automotive name worth showing from the air.
